Just came back from Vivo and indeed, it is generally a lighthearted movie. It only gets a bit 'heavy' towards the end. The lead actor, Ken, has little role and dialogue. The focus is all on the protagonist, Mei Ly or Mei Lee (Cris Horwang), who is thankfully(*) convincing playing the role of a 30yo spinster and also a drunkard. I find her acting versatile. @youngjohnny - In the movie, the question was posed to Lee's best friend, Ped who is newly married. She shares her thoughts which I find it rather meaningful. In short, I won't say this is a fantastic movie because of its weak & scattered plot. The sole antagonist, Plern who although cute, is almost forgettable. But I love the laughing parts and the fact that it does not bombard its audiences with truckload of moral values and whatnot. (*) - It was 'thankfully' because I have never heard of Cris Horwang prior to this movie. And there was a little gossip about her recently. Note that the grandmother speaks Teochiew but the younger family members haven't a clue what she mostly said. Lee's mother usually translates them in to Thai but not without deliberate exaggerations. Some of these (mis)interpretations are quite funny.
