I will not go for someone impersonating Teresa and lip sync
I dont feel the singers will lip sync her. Thats way too low class. I just find the singer dont sound like Teresa at all as claimed in the advertisement.
Just saw the anniversary concert performance by Fish Leong. Teresa has one of the best voice in the music industry. Her singing is effortless and so soothing to hear. Listened to her songs with my grandma when i was young. Love her songs... 百听不厌。
For those who like Teresa Teng, there will be concert "Unforgettable Teresa Teng - A Tribute to the Superstar" held on 18 Sep 2010 Sat, 07:30PM at The MAX Pavilion@Singapore Expo. Wonder will the response be good as we are more interested to see the REAL Teresa Teng performing instead of her voice alike singers performing

i agree with mithrandir that singers during 70s have strong identifiable voices like Yao Su Rong, Teresa Teng, Feng Fei Fei and Jenny Tseng. This is very lacking in singers nowadays and you dont even understand what are they mumbling about. I heard a taiwan songwriter commented that most singers nowadays sing as if a bun was stuffed in their mouth. haha
Teresa and Jenny Tseng belong to the same 70s era where most of their songs are evergreens. If Teresa Teng is alive, i believe she will also have her world tour concerts like Feng Fei Fei, Jenny,Cai Qin and Fei Yu Qing.
i love these thespian artistes. each have their own distinct voice that's immediately identifiable. even causal listeners will not mix up who is who. all agree? even now, i rather buy their cds then any younger singers who rely so much on gimmicks, and record companies' hard sell! except kelvin, chen wei lian maybe. heehee
i think i can, and will still listen to teresa 10 years from now.
She is so beautiful ,elegance and full of charisma in this video, most of all is her impeccable silky voice and hit on the right pitch right notes! Bravo Teresa !
Meet me on a cloud Leave your car I'll transport you Leave your mobile phone I'll be in touch Don't bring your shoes Come barefoot Leave everyone behind I want only you
I hope this thread can be more alive especially this year is her 15th death anniversary. She will always be remembered as the forever songstress of Asia. Its quite nice to see Fish Leong singing "Ni Zen Me Shuo" with Teresa Teng during the memorial concert held in Taiwan.
Everyone here, do you still miss her and remember her?
Txs for the clips.
I am constantly reminded of Teresa Teng when I visit those clubs.
Almost everyweek, can hear one song or another performed lip sync. Unfortunately, the performer's expression cannot match the lyrics and meaning of those songs.
ps
No offence, but Fish Leong cannot live up to the standard of Teresa Teng.
The next closest and next best thing to me is Faye Wong.

Her appearance is alike to Teresa Teng. You can look at both of their photos and compare.
I have changed my avatar to Winnie Hsin as she's releasing her new album in 2 days time. From far, maybe have a bit of resemblence to Teresa. But close-up not so same le.

To me, she's still the most accomplished singiner in the Chinese entertainment world, with an almost unmatched level of success and achievement in Taiwan, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and even Hong Kong.
not just the accomplishment, no1 sings better than her infact. have you notice u could not hear her "breathing" between the lines?
Last week 8 May was Teresa Teng's 12th death anniversary. Her songs have continued to flourish through radio airplay, commemorative album reissues as well as tributes from other artistes when they do remakes of her songs.
Of course one of the most successful attempts by an artiste to re-interpret her classics is Faye Wong. Faye released an album of Teresa's oldies as a tribute to the late singer (it's well-known that Teresa is her idol) in 1995 called "菲靡靡之音". What is so amazing about this album is that Faye has given the songs a complete make-over so that while we are savouring the classic familiar melodies of the songs, it's also kind of like listening to new songs as a result of the fresh and brand-new arrangements. I've picked one of my personal faves from the "菲靡靡之音" album to showcase here and that song is "翠湖寒".
