This study aims to add to the current research on lesbian, gay and bisexual issues in Singapore. It's an informal chat, does not contain any questions about your sex lives... it's more about your views and experiences as a young LGB Singaporean :) The study has been approved by Columbia University's Institutional Review Board, which protects research participants.

My name is Sujith Kumar and I am a Singaporean MA student at Columbia University's Institute for the Study of Human Rights.

For my Master's thesis, I am conducting a study on the attitudes of Singaporean lesbian, gay and bisexual youth, their experiences and their hopes for the future. You are eligible to participate in the study if you
• are aged 18-25
• are Singaporean or Singapore Permanent Resident
• have studied for at least five years in Singaporean primary/secondary schools
• identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or are questioning.

Participation in this study involves meeting for a one-to-one interview at a location of your choosing. The interview will take approximately 1 hour, and will be confidential. The study has been approved by the Columbia University Institutional Review Board. The final decision about participation is yours, and you can withdraw at any time. There will be no compensation for volunteering. However, the information collected from this research will contribute to a greater awareness of the attitudes and hopes of young Singaporeans like you. Your participation will also help to bring attention to the impact of discrimination based on sexual orientation.

If you're interested, please PM me or e-mail me at sk3569@columbia.edu. Thank you!
