noticed they cut short a number of songs, some abruptly, and didn't particularly like some of the camera angles and settings. Thought they could have borrowed a bit more from the musical to lend more dramatic impact.

pleasant surprise to see Colm Wilkinson (original Valjean) as the priest, was trying to figure which prostitute was Frances Rufelle (original Eponine), read that Linzi's small role/song was cut from the film.

Hathaway did good, had in my mind an older Fantine tho'- and a mezzo soprano at that.
Eddie did well - not as suave as I had hoped, looked a bit like a monkey.
Siegfried did well - sounded like a fluttering canary tho'.

Samantha's version is not bad, too. :)

anyhows, while many would prefer lea salonga's version, this interpretation by Linzi Hateley does it for me...

I like the performances of Anne Hathaway (esp during that signature song), Hugh Jackman and Samantha Barks (as Eponine).

if you go to 0:28 seconds of the trailer, the man in white pants was running and he is underwearless. can see his swing bulge.

I enjoyed the musical when it was played here in the early 90s.. at Kallang Theatre.
And of course, I dream a dream... lovely days...
It is a very sad story, so prepare to cry buckets...

Wow. What powerful casts! Wish they had a musical for this in SG though.
