This is only partially true.

The acts of the GOP are not inspired by any lunatic ideas of divinities and other fairy tales, like the differences between religious fanatics.

Instead, they are very cunning, practical individuals. They are not working to destroy America but to make America work for them. They have been defeated in 2008 in a very innoble way and were left red-faced. They have nothing to offer, nothing to run on but on the contrary have a big negative in Bush's disastrous presidency, so they put their bet on making Obama's presidency look as bad as possible by actively destroying as much of America as they can (here you are right in the 'destroying') so that they can blame Obama for that.

They cannot possibly believe this lie that cutting taxes benefits the economy, for example. They preach this to deceive the dumbest Americans, while the smarter ones can see through the deception but still think that the Republicans can bring some benefit to them.

And the Republicans surely can benefit some in the middle class and up: it benefits those low-lives who rather lose some while others lose much, much more, so that they, even with less wealth, get into a percent-wise higher class of wealth. In this past recession and the current bad economy, practically ALL people including the rich lost. But a person who lost A LITTLE can feel great satisfaction that he didn't loose like the ones who lost A LOT, and so his ego gets a nice boost, thanks to the GOP, and this will reinforce his feelings of being smart because he votes for the GOP.

Religious fundamentalism/extremism? The only thing that changes are the players/participants. But otherwise nope.

It is just a saying, it has nothing to do with YOUR face at all.... What is it with you Asians, don't you have any humor at all?

The same goes when I say "how long took it your mom to give you birth?" It has nothing to do with mom at all, it just means: "you are slow".... that's all.

You know, over the years I have learned in here that these kind of sayings are impossible to translate the way I do. However, sometimes it is out before I notice.....

Hahaha... no need for that.

You know.... if I would say: "your face shows a highly and remarkable resemblance with the rear end of a horse", or "your face looks like a horse's ass", what would be the difference?

It means just the same, right? So, no need to do that. Unless, of course, you are a politician, or talking to.... no, let's not go there...

I don't talk to.... no, but in a little while I might go to his miserable thread and do my daily whipping of his silly ass.

Please, don't insult my intelligence. I only wrote this question in the 'Why'-thread because I didn't know where else to put it.

Smartass???? 'Why?'

I have to admit that I think of myself as 'smart'. So if I am smart, of course my ass is too.

Thanks for confirming my beliefs. My name is not 'Smartass', I don't think they would have accepted that name at the courthouse. At that time 'Dirtyass' would have fit me better :)

OK. Next time I'll give a softer and more sophisticated answer to your 'Why?' question.

It's amusing to see the responses to Sailor's question "Why".

With this question he finally revealed that his real age is at least 40 or 50 years less than what he wants us to believe.

Little Sailor, if you want your question answered, why don't you ask it to the venerable members of organized religions, who would love to spend hundreds of hours answering it, and when finally your brains are washed and bleached clean, you will be happy on your way to sainthood.

Or wait until you grow up, and then you can think like me that in the very unprobable case that there is/was something like a creator, a god, this something is nothing but pure evil. What else can this creator be, if it made life so worthless! So worthless that there are now seven BILLION human lives, each feeling the most important thing in the world for themselves yet only existing for a flash of time before going back to nothing. And this is just humans, not counting all the other forms of life equally important (or not).

Given the alternatives, maybe you better put the "Why" question far down in your priorities, and instead concentrate on the nice young guys in your neighborhood and how to get in touch with them :)

Indeed all these judges should be tied to an X-beam and given the cane <_<

How can they be so impartial? How could they pre-judge him? Did they ever consider his needs? He's a man of desire, he have his needs. For god's sake the kids only 0-4, you think any of them would even remember or know any of these things that's happening? :o In the 1st place the parents were too busy to be with their kids hence they were left at day care so what is wrong if he spend more time playing with them than their ever busy parents? ;)

Knowing the condition of prisons and their cells, it is definitely inhumane to keep someone there with an open date. Even pets get better treatment these days. Furthermore, if they don't get to socialise cause of their imprisonment, what future or prospect can come out of it. There is no chance for them to get networking and even if they perform well, they can't get a promotion. :(

Life suck! doesn't it? and i am not refering to the sucking we all know so well... :D

In both cases, I bet their name must be "Alec", "smart alec" to be precise...

Joke aside, ever wonder what their life is like since birth till this turn of events? Lots of time I see a beggar or an elderly who still have to work so hard either collecting empty cans or cardboard boxes, I wonder what their life had been. Likewise when I read in papers of reported cases, I also have that same feeling. Each and everyone of us have our own stories to tell. Only we, ourselves know what that FULL story is. There are times when I make mistake and though being corrected by others, I too, knowingly try to twist & turn around in order to safe the day, well at least for myself. If only such show of "cleverness" could be put to better used than this world might be a better place. Unfortunately, like the different length of our fingers, nothing is ever equal in life. Sometimes we get the best while other times we just get short change. The mind is such a complex thing. What we believe is right and proper may not be so in the eyes of others. Thou some rights and wrong are clearly differentiate but still bound to have a few crazkpot who just feel otherwise. That's what makes life so colorful and since i love the rainbow, i just have to learn to like it whether there is or isn't a pot of gold at the end of it.

What you think about these two cases?

In the US, the FBI arrested a man in posession of childporn. In one of the pics, the child carries a Dutch booklet, so they tipped off the police over here.
Believe it or not, but the police arrested the producer and his husband. He was working at a daycare center and worked with children 0-4 y.o. He admitted to have abused about 70 children in this age. Police found about 37.000 pics and 3600 movies on his pc, some in wich he acted as well.
Yesterday his trial started and that asshole was complaining that he already was sentenced before the trial had begun and that the judges were paying more attention to the parents interrests than his! He called Holland a 'developping country' in the judicial area (he is from Letland).

Now, I am not very much in favor of death sentences, but in this case I am willing to make an exeption.

In 1987 a Chinese man was sentenced for life for slaughtering a Chinese couple and their two little children by stabbing them.
Now he is sueing the State, because he has no 'perspective and future' and since the judges didn't set an end-date, it is 'inhumane' to keep him in prison, according to him.

Can you believe that brutality?

afterall no one had proven life after death so no one have heard that they have to pay for their wrong action/s in this life when they reach the next. it's something simple as in asking for help but just as complex as to figure out one's mind.

There is something I don't understand.

More and more you read in papers: "Father shoots his wife and two children and than himself", "Mother locked her husband and 4 children in their home and set it on fire, burning all" or "father strangled and stabbed his wife and than ran into a speeding train with his baby in his arms".

Who would do something like that? Yeah, I know, them, but why? When they are deep in debt, or their marriage is going wrong, or they just flip, or they see no way out of their problems, or whatever, than why didn't they seek any help? I mean there is help available on virtually every streetcorner.

Is this happening in SG too, or is this typical something that only happens up here?
