It's not membership issue but PT signup.
As usual, a PT came up to me and ask me about my workout and taking PT session.
I told him I am not interested because about $75 a session is too expensive.
He then told me currently they have a promotion where I can get very much lower than that. Ok ... after much persuading, I go and hear out what they can offer me.
It was then taken over by one of the sales rep to do the explaination.
But the price still not much difference. 30 sessions at the price of about $2.2K before admin charge & GST. I told him is too expensive and rejected the offer. When I about to leave my seat, he come out with another offer "How about if I give you 50 sessions?" Of course this sounded extremely tempting to me. After that, he ask me what credit card I am using, he would need me to give him my credit card, so that he can check with management whether I can be eligible for this special rate.
When he come back to me with my credit card, he eagerly ask me to sign the agreement.
Worst of all, credit transaction receipt already printed out and total cost is $4K plus. In my mind, I haven't sign any agreement and has yet sign my credit transaction, this transaction should not been approved.
I told the sales rep I am not signing up because this is not the price agreed and I left.
When I go back to my locker, I was shocked that I received a sms from my bank that the $4K plus transaction has been approved. I called my bank to check and payment confirmed been processed. I told my bank I did not agreed on any transaction, how can it be approved. Bank told me to go back to California Fitness to void the transaction if I have not agreed to this.
The club manager finally did issue me a void sale receipt but void transaction was not done immediately when I re-confirmed with my bank. The club manager then told me that the transaction will only be done in the night when they closed the day account.
I will need to check with my bank again tomorrow.
Hopefully close case
Now a-day credit cards normally come with "Pay Pass" or "Pay Wave" function. It means no signature is required to make transaction. If your credit card falls into someone hand. That's it and your money (usually credit card limit S$5,000) can be gone without knowing. That's the price to be paid with "Easy Payment" or "Hassle Free Payment" =D
